Istihalah (الاستحالة): Journal of Halal Science, Law and Innovation is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the advancement of scholarly research on halal science, halal law, and innovation. The journal provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, academics, legal scholars, scientists, practitioners, and policymakers to explore emerging issues and developments within the global halal ecosystem.
Istihalah (الاستحالة): Journal of Halal Science, Law and Innovation publishes scholarly works that examine halal issues from scientific, legal, technological, social, economic, and interdisciplinary perspectives. The journal seeks to bridge scientific knowledge, legal frameworks, and innovation in addressing contemporary challenges and opportunities in the halal sector.
The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, and review articles covering a broad range of topics, including halal science and technology, halal food and beverages, halal pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, halal ingredients and materials, halal product assurance, halal certification and standards, halal supply chains, halal traceability, halal law and regulation, Islamic law and halal governance, halal industry development, technological innovation, digitalization of the halal ecosystem, and other emerging issues related to halal science, law, and innovation.
Particular attention is given to interdisciplinary research that connects scientific and technological developments with legal and regulatory frameworks, as well as innovative approaches to strengthening halal assurance, governance, sustainability, competitiveness, and public trust. The journal encourages research with local, national, regional, and global relevance.
Istihalah uses a double-blind peer-review process to maintain the quality, integrity, and academic credibility of published works. Submitted manuscripts are evaluated based on their originality, academic contribution, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's focus and scope, and compliance with publication ethics and author guidelines.
Authors should ensure that submitted manuscripts comply with the Istihalah Author Guidelines and Manuscript Template. Manuscripts must meet the journal's requirements concerning structure, originality, academic quality, ethical standards, and referencing. Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley to ensure consistency and accuracy in citations and bibliographic references. Submitted manuscripts may also undergo a similarity check as part of the editorial screening process.
Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's Focus and Scope, Author Guidelines, manuscript format, publication ethics, or administrative requirements may be rejected during the initial editorial screening. Only manuscripts that meet the journal's editorial and technical standards will proceed to the double-blind peer-review process.
